meeting Payton

Monday, March 24, 2008

Our family spends almost everyday holiday together at my grandparents' house.  It is a special family tradition that I look forward to.  The girls are always excited to see family and yesterday was even more special getting to meet baby Payton.  They were enamored with her!  It was sweet to see their reactions.  We all enjoyed a special meal together and seeing a family so excited about their new baby!

an Easter visit

We enjoyed spending another Saturday with Amy in San Antonio.  It was such a big week for her getting her bone marrow transplant and some intense treatment that goes with it.  It was fun spending some family time and doing a simple Easter celebration together.  Amy and I had fun hiding eggs for the girls and watching them hunt them down.  These family moments are precious to me.

one wonderful surprise

Thursday, March 20, 2008

It was such an exciting day today because my cousin, Ashley, had her first baby!  She was one wonderful surprise!  A sonogram  (months ago) was read that she was a he.  Several baby showers equipped them with many blue & green baby things!
They are blessed with a beautiful baby and they couldn't look more taken with her.  We are all excited to invite one more girl in the family (no boys are allowed, evidently).  It made me even more excited about our little one coming in June!  Baby girls...they are just wonderful.

Holly Wolly Noodle

Our girls love to sing and dance to songs from their dance recital video.  Here is their version of Polly Wolly Doodle All Day.  I love that their version goes "Holly Wolly Noodle."  I can't correct it...it's too funny to me.

visiting Amy in San Antonio

Monday, March 17, 2008

This Saturday, we visited Amy in San Antonio.  She has relocated there with Karan for the next 3 months, receiving her bone marrow transplant and the treatment that goes with it.  We don't like her far from us, but the Lord has provided a perfect place to stay during all of this.  An old friend has a guest house where they can stay, that is about 30 miles out of San Antonio.  The hill country surroundings are beautiful and the house is just perfect for Amy's comfort during chemotherapy.  It was wonderful seeing them.  As you can tell, the girls loved the swings in the high trees...endless entertainment.  Amy's page is updated often here, if you want an update on her treatment.

Rachel visited!

It was so much fun seeing Rachel in town this weekend from Virginia.  We ate out Tex-Mex twice together...could not get enough of that on her trip.  I think it is so sweet that she is always thinking about how to be an involved aunt.  This weekend was sweet for me seeing her play games with them and exchanging so many hugs/kisses.  We miss her all the time!

66 years of marriage

Sunday, March 16, 2008

This beautiful couple is my Nanny & Papa.  We celebrated with them on their wedding anniversary - 66 years!  That is so amazing!  I often wonder who reads this blog, and I'm always touched to find out that they do faithfully.  (Papa and I share a love for pictures.)  Love you, Nanny & Papa!

...letting your dad push you so high on the swing that you feel like you're flying.

adam's bday

Sunday, March 9, 2008

We enjoyed a small party in our home, this weekend, in honor of Adam's birthday.  He loves a party and being the center of all the attention!  We had such a great time laughing with our friends, and enjoying a quiet night of just adults.  Our kids enjoyed a very special visit to Chuck-e-Cheese with grandparents.  Hallelujah!  It made me feel a little more "grown-up" to give a dinner party.  I'd like to say I knew what I was doing...but my Mom got many phone calls last week!  Fortunately, she's a wiz at entertaining and was happy to help.  It was such a nice evening.
