My 4 year old loves Winnie the Pooh stories.
I can't help but think of Owl when I see this guy in the tree next door.
Two silly sisters...on the same night.

Reading Ramona books and playing with your sister.  Little glimpses of your 2nd grade days.

Here is a glimpse of one of our fall mornings last week.
The little one turning on her own nebulizer because of those crazy allergies.  She sits here happy because Curious George is on the tv.

I'm fascinated with the morning light on our favorite chair, of course.

The girls were funny about seeing the camera out.  It had been a long time for them.  They were almost happy to see it.  I am sure I was smiling while getting a picture of these two.  They can be sweet sisters to each other?  It will always be nice to see.  Actually these two are very close right now.

first day of dance class

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

I get a little sentimental about the first day of dance because I think of each girl starting at 3 years old.  It's such a sweet thing. This is the closest thing I've been able to do for 3 yr. old preschool or mother's day out.  So, I'm always hoping that my daughter will go in the class and follow a teacher.  It's good practice for school in the future (or at least that's what I say to Adam when I ask him to pay dance tuition. :)

Getting pre-lesson lessons.

sisters

Thursday, July 7, 2011

I am looking forward to sorting through a tons of photos from our family time over the 4th.  I did try to get a picture with all 3 sisters.  They gave me about 30 seconds to get it...so, of course, I didn't.  But this first shot was a keeper just because its them.  I love them so much, in spite of how uncooperative they can be all together! :)

Here is a glimpse of sisterhood and mischievous children...all in one post. I took these picture for a photography class (working on an assignment) and these were the outtakes.

I was caught off guard by how much they both like this little pretend game. Plus, it just looks hilarious.

summer mornings

Saturday, May 29, 2010

I think I may have been the one most excited about summer in my household!  Here we are all in our pajamas at 9:35am.  I look at this moment and think....I love their bed head in the morning, their mismatched pjs, and just a general goofball-ness they all have.  I'm grateful for the time together.  Time for them to be sisters and friends...and the time I've been blessed with, to be with them, as a constant observer.  I love what I do.

little one + big sis.

Saturday, May 22, 2010

Since I've last blogged we have been on a mega-roadtrip as a family. I'll overwhelm this blog with photos of our vacation soon. For now, they are all still sleeping files in my camera. I had these pics to share in the meantime. Little Peewee & her big sis...goofing off in the playroom. I've been taking tons of photos of my "baby". She'll be two in about a month. Their littleness is much too brief...and I know I'm not alone in my feelings on that.:)

a new level of dress up...

I'm happy to report that baby sis' thought it was a lot of fun too.

I had to grab my camera quick

Saturday, November 7, 2009

I was doing some chores in the kitchen & the kids were playing quietly. I was surprised when I turned the corner and found a wedding ceremony in progress. This totally took me back to when my sister and I played together. My favorite part is the petticoat from a dress-up dress used as a bridal veil.

finding fall :: the morning breeze

It was actually cool this morning in our backyard! It has been so hot for so long that it felt like the biggest treat to be outside for an hour and not sweat-like-crazy.

They were finally playing on the slide again because it wasn't sizzling hot. Yay!

Will you swing me instead of taking pictures?

Here is our enormous okra plant. Do any of us like okra? Not really. So, of course, it would be the one thing that this fledgling garderner could grow humongous and plentiful.

I look at these 2 pics, from early summer, and I have 2 thoughts. #1. I love that our favorite little blond is such a loving big sister. #2. She's all over her all the time! It's driving me a little crazy because she is not always gentle...if you know what I mean.

Here she is holding one reluctant baby sis and playing patty-cake.

the outsider

Monday, August 24, 2009

Life is like this for our baby girl. There are so many things that she can't join her sisters in...for now. It won't last long. I just saw this photo and thought it documents this stage of her being a bit of an "outsider." I look forward to the day when she can romp, play & keep up with them (I think). I say that now...

from vacation

it would be an understatement...

Friday, July 31, 2009

...to say that my kids like dress-up! I never know what I will find them wearing. Today I turned around and was surprised to find her disguised as a crazy pirate. That's fun and a little out of the ordinary! And her little sister was a Pirate Princess, who was needing her protection, of course. Note: they discovered that markers make great makeup...hmmm.

We are dog sitting my mom's sweet dog, Gracie. She escaped into the front yard while we were documenting the pirate game. No joke, she says, "Mom, I saved the dog from the deep water!" They are just so full of imagination!

We had to end the whole adventure with a group dance to a Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang song that came on spontaneously on the iPod shuffle.

Childhood is so short-lived. I pray that I can see more of these moments and stop long enough to take part in them.

gotta love sisters

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

I got to take a ton of pictures on a recent trip to Fredricksburg. That town is so charming. This sisters shot is priceless to me.

She appeases me from time to time and I love that about her.

This little one wanted to do her own thing. I have no idea what's she's doing or thinking in these photos...but they are still funny to me.

And on that same day...I was loving time with my own sister! I am so happy that she is in Austin for the summer because she lives in Virginia right now. And I miss her like crazy all the time! Here is my fam - mom & dad, sis and cool brother-in-law, Andrew.
