so sweet one minute...

Sometimes I have to wake her up early from nap to go pick up big sis at school. Kids are just so adorable when they sleep!
This is what she's like...just moments later. :) It is totally understandable, sweetie.

celebrating 7

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

We had another day of birthday celebration. She loved her new scooter from my parents. My favorite pics of her tonight were with these hilarious sunglasses my mom got her. She zipped around looking pretty cool on her razor scooter. More than any other birthday, it feels like we have reached the "big kid" phase. And it's just crazy!

could she really be 7 now?

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

How is this possible?  7 years!  We are celebrating a birthday over here tomorrow.  My freckle-faced kid keeps growing up...and I am trying very hard to like it.  I look at both of these pictures and I am just amazed.  I'm in awe of God for entrusting such a person to me.  She will always be my first little one.  I can remember holding her in those first few hours and being scared to death.  What if I screw this all up?!  I embrace her now and have the same thought.  Only now she's this opinionated, articulate, creative, spirited-kid.  And I feel even less "in-control."  With all that in mind, God knows I need her.

Sorry for all the sappiness.  I think it's impossible to avoid considering the circumstances.

2009 - a year with a lot of photos.

I've decided to throw one more post up here to wrap up project 365 from last year. If I had to guess, project 365 probably turned out to be project 265. My consistency began to fade around July. Overall, it was a fun year for learning more about photography.
I put together this little video for my family. We just piled on the couch today and watched it on our tv. I could see this turning into an annual tradition. Adam and I, especially, loved it. It's 4 minutes and has about 100 of my favorite photos from the year. It sounded like fun to share it now, since it won't have as much significance later on in the year. Love, KC

if you have a mac - drag fave photos from iPhoto and a song from iTunes into iMovie. It does pretty much everything for you. Love it.

getting 2010 started

I love the New Year. I love fresh starts and new projects. As I look ahead to this semester, I'm very excited about ministry at church and in our home. I have some fun lists written down in my journal (home projects, crafts, and booklists). Adam has helped me write down a Bible reading plan this year that I'm encouraged by. He loaned me a new study Bible that I'm really going to enjoy. These things are sounding so refreshing to me right now. On that note, my mind is on many things right now and I think it would be good to take a break from blogging. This little project has been so rewarding and fun. I'd love to return to it in a few months. Happy New Year friends!

we love family

Over the holidays the girls have been blessed by a sleepover with each grandma. They look forward to these so much. On this particular day, our girls were eagerly waiting by the door for their Grandma Karan "G.K." The sign that my oldest made just cracked me up. She was waiting curbside for her grandmother...with her GK bus signage.

Kids are cute. I think they are especially adorable when they light up around family. Each of my kiddos really loves their family members. We have fun with them and depend on them so much. Over the Christmas break we heard sad news that our dear Amy (Adam's sister) has cancer once again. I told my oldest daughter today and held her while she cried a little bit. She loves her aunt so much and doesn't want her to be sick. We all feel that way and wish that this wasn't happening. With that said, we are very hopeful she will recover. It is not as serious as other times that she has faced treatment, but it's still alarming. And still makes our hearts sad that this road is not over for her. Our time with Amy over Christmas was so incredibly sweet for us. We really treasure her and what she brings into our family. She is a loving aunt and sweet sister. Amy has always impressed me with her strength and steadiness. We are praying for her health and peace right now...knowing our Lord can sustain her through this trial like He has been merciful to do in the past. love, KC

goofing off with first words

Toddlers are fun to goof around with. I never know just what she is understanding exactly or thinking. But it's not hard to tell if she's having fun. This little squirt brightens my days.
Every time we are at the changing table we practice our vocabulary. It's part silly and part purposeful. Here she is just before bedtime on Christmas Eve. It's late so she's in a goofy mood and is very difficult about saying my name...I think. (And I blame the darkness for my horrible videographer skills, even though I clearly have no video skills to begin with).
