Hope you are ready for some pictures!  I posted a few. :)  I'm sitting here playing around with Halloween photos & listening to the Harry Potter Pandora station...yep, I'm that geeky.

FINAL PREPARATION

LAST MINUTE GLUE-GUNNING

THE LIL' COWGIRL

THE PRINCESS PIRATE

EACH OF MY GIRLS...has worn this costume at age 3.  This costume has had a good Halloween life.

MORE PRINCESS THAN PIRATE...I think.

ANOTHER SILLY KID.

HER COSTUME...deserves an entire blog post to itself!  She was a toy store and this costume proves 2 things about our parenting:
1.  We are not stifling this child's creativity.
2.  We are raising her to contribute to the "Keep Austin Weird" culture. ;)
Another funny thing about this costume idea of hers was we weren't sure if she was going to try and make some money on Halloween night.  We would not put it past her.  She's has entrepreneurial gifts.  She didn't try any funny business, but wouldn't have been surprised...

TRICK OR TREATING

ADAM'S ANGRY BIRDS JACK-O-LANTERN...the children & teenagers in the neighborhood were impressed!

ONE MORE THING...I have to mention that this costume was quite uncomfortable.  She made it for a little while...
...and then she was on to Phase 2 - a princess dress.  I love the photo with all 3.  The Toy Store makes me giggle...I love that kid so much!

SORTING.  BEST PART.

Such a fun night.  My mom made us tacos.  Adam took the girls out trick or treating and I sat on the front porch with mom.  We handed out candy a little and talked a lot.

Here is a glimpse of one of our fall mornings last week.
The little one turning on her own nebulizer because of those crazy allergies.  She sits here happy because Curious George is on the tv.

I'm fascinated with the morning light on our favorite chair, of course.

The girls were funny about seeing the camera out.  It had been a long time for them.  They were almost happy to see it.  I am sure I was smiling while getting a picture of these two.  They can be sweet sisters to each other?  It will always be nice to see.  Actually these two are very close right now.

pumpkin day

Saturday, October 22, 2011

We enjoyed our day at the farm yesterday.  The 1st graders at our school had a field trip.  Fun with friends - for them.  A few pumpkin pictures - for me.  I'm already laughing at the pose my 3 yr. old had.  I think her new haircut and her boots made her a little more confident for the camera.

I have had difficulty knowing what to write and share over this past month.  Two weeks ago, today, my family said goodbye to our beloved Amy.

Amy is Adam's sister.  She will be remembered as an incredibly loving aunt to our children.  It was a joy to have her as a sister-in-law for 9 years.  I grieve alongside my in-laws and her husband, Mike.  She was a delight to all of us.

I love her wonderful writing on her own journal.

Through this season, I've been incredibly blessed by our family, friends and the church.  We have been comforted by our God in unforgettable ways.  He loves us and holds us.  And I've longed for my heavenly home, to be in God's presence as Amy is, more and more.  We are blessed by the hope that only God can give.

I wanted to share a picture because Amy and I love our pictures!  It's a bummer that the one I wanted needs to be scanned.  Maybe I can share it soon.
